About new album, worries and European tour - read what has told us Jonny - guitarist of the band.

METAL-CORE.com: „Blessed & Cursed” is your 3rd release. Between it and „A Fragile hope” is big difference. Did you feel worried about opinions of fans?
Jonny: We were curious as to how it would be received as it is a bit different from the last album. We felt that it still had our sound but was a step forward and we all love it so we just hoped everyone else would think the same.
METAL-CORE.com: Your European tour includes shows in Poland, Slovenia, Slovakia and Czech Republic. Do you think that is the best moment for band to visit countries where hardcore/metalcore scene is weak?
Jonny: The tours coming up are to support the album release so as far as timing goes it is good for us to get out there and promote it now. We are always up for going to new places and really look forward to dates we have coming up.
METAL-CORE.com: After Devil Sold His Soul many bands started to copy your style and some people started to calling this is a new wave of playing post-hardcore. Maybe it is to early for that kind announcements, but please give our visitor few bands which are not well known and could be interested for Devil Sold His Soul fans.
Jonny: I'm not sure about people copying us haha! But as far as bands I know of that do a similar style then I would recommend Rinoa and Breaking The Day. Both great bands that do their own thing within a similar vein to what we do.
METAL-CORE.com: Devil Sold His Soul is inspiration for young, fresh bands but who is inspiration for Devil Sold His Soul?
Jonny: We take inspiration mainly from life experiences, films and art. There is always so much going on in the world that it is hard not to be inspired. Always trying to better ourselves and pushing forwards is what we strive for.
METAL-CORE.com: Your music is not easy for the audience and I think there is not many people who become your fan after first listing of our album. Haven’t you think about making your songs more soft?
Jonny: I don't think we would ever change our style abruptly as we like things to progress naturally. If somewhere along the line we wrote some softer tracks by chance and we were all feeling it then it could happen but it would never be a straight decision to do so.

METAL-CORE.com: Is there place for songs taken from „Darkness prevails” or „Fragile Hope” on your new live set list?
Jonny: Yeah we still play songs from all the releases in our sets although the upcoming dates will contain a lot of material from the new album. As our songs are quite long it is difficult to choose though as we can only play so many!
METAL-CORE.com: What are the plans of Devil Sold His Soul after touring in the Europe?
Jonny: We have a short break and will be doing a headline UK tour in the new year. After that I'm sure it will be back to the drawing board to work on some more songs.
METAL-CORE.com: Most of our users and visitors are young musicians. Can you give them some advice how to become a good artist?
Jonny: Just to practice a lot and play whatever you think is good. Take influence from things around you but do what you want to do without worrying about what other people think. This is what will make you stand out from the crowd.
