About Between The Screams plans, inspirations and many more - read what has told us Daniel - guitarist of the band.

METAL-CORE.com: After signing to Basick records did you feel any pressure to step up writing for the full length?
Daniel: We actually had the album pretty much done by the time Basick offered us a deal. The album took so long to see the light of day that most of the songs on it were already a year old by the time it was released.
METAL-CORE.com: With such positive response from both CD's you have released, do you think it will be difficult to keep up this level of writing and technicality into further records?
Daniel: We're actually taking a big step forward (we believe) with the new tracks. Its still Between the Screams, but there's a definite difference between "Our last Days on Earth" and the new stuff so fingers crossed the change is heading in the right direction.
METAL-CORE.com: After a whirlwind couple of years behind you, what plans do you have for the rest of 2010 and 2011?
Daniel: The plan for the rest of 2010 is to release a final video and single from "Our last Days on Earth", and to wrap up the cycle for this album. Heading into 2011 we're looking at maybe a small EP of new material and a few tours or we may hold off until we have finished writing album 2. Either way we can never stay quiet for too long. We get bored!
METAL-CORE.com: Throughout the bands careers, what bands have you toured with that you've had the most fun with?
Daniel: We're not a party kinda band so our fun consists of football, bulling each other and very questionable humour. We've toured with some great bands though, but the one that stands out for us is an unsigned band from Kent in the UK called Breaking the day. Brilliant band and quality guys. We definitely loved that tour the most.
METAL-CORE.com: Do you have any embarasing /funny story's from these tours?
Daniel: None that could be said out side of the band, no.
METAL-CORE.com: Having covered most of the UK touring, do the band have a favourite town/city?
Daniel: Brighton is great! Nottingham is probably our least favourite as someone tried to steal our van while we were asleep in it!
METAL-CORE.com: Could you name a few bands that have influenced you when writing?
Daniel: In the beginning Deftones were probably the biggest single influence on us, followed by bands like Isis, Cult of Luna but as we've progressed we seem to be influenced by ourselves if that makes sense. We're more interested in exploring our own sound and pushing it more and more into a 'Oh, thats Between the screams' kind a sound, rather than 'They sound like this band, or that sounds like that song'.

METAL-CORE.com: With more and more bands rising in the UK underground music scene, is it becoming increasingly difficult to compete with other bands?
Daniel: To a degree, yeah! We've been doing this sound for a while now and when we started the UK scene really didn't have many bands like us. There was pretty much just us and Devil sold his Soul, but now its opening up a lot more and you've got a lot of bands doing it and incorporating different styles into it too.
METAL-CORE.com: Or is it just a challenge for Between The Screams?
Daniel: I think we have made it difficult for ourselves in a way as there really aren't any bands directly like us. There are bands like Devil sold his Soul, Rinoa and a few others who are similar in different ways, but we always stick out on a bill. We always feel on the outside, like we don't fit into a scene or trend. But then we wouldn't have it any other way either.
